+ Location / Office Space:
In the case of an emergency, Mike Feldbusch and a select few managers will meet at John Scheider's office at the Plaza East Commercial office building behind Kohl's near dairy queen off the Lloyd Expressway. This meeting will be used to discuss our options and go over what needs to be done to get us up and running again. John's contact information is below.

The Plaza East building almost always has office space available. We might be able to procure some of this space immediately. I have been to the website (below) and there are several offices for lease in this building, with many different sizes and square footages. It would not be difficult to aquire some. The contact information is below:

+ Computers:
Information
Dell computers are built on-demand, and cannot be pre-assembled and waiting in the case of a disaster. The order must be called in and built at that time. The only way to have computers waiting is to go ahead and buy them and put them in storage somewhere. Otherwise, we must call in the order or place the order online and choose the quickest ship method available. Below is the contact information and specs needed for this order. Current specs are listed, however these exact models may not be available, since newer computers most likely will have come out since this plan was devised.

+ Server:
We currently run an HP Proliant ML 350 server with two raid 5 arrays set up. One is about 120 GB, and the other is about 240 GB. The server currently is used for 2 main functions - data storage, and for the Navision server (Microsft Business Solutions). Without the server running, Navision would no longer be accessible.
Backups are done nightly to IDE harddrives using a High Rely USB 2.0 housing, with multiple hard drive trays kept in a fireproof safe next to it on the 2nd floor at U.S. Surveyor.
Each week, the IT Manager (Sean) takes Friday's backup drive to his home for off-site storage, and brings in one of the other Friday drives. This assures that even if the backup drives were all damaged at the business location, the data would still be retrievable from these drives. After a new server and High Rely system were retrieved, we could insert one of these drives and pull down a copy of all the server data to the new machine.
HIGH RELY WEBSITE
+ E-Mail:
Our E-mail system is provided by IDT on the east side of Evansville, near Morgan Ave. All email passes through and is housed on the servers at their location, and therefore, would not be affected by a disaster here at US Surveyor. Also, users can access their US Surveyor email from any computer that has an Internet connection using the online access system. This is located at http://hosted.idatatech.net and can be accessed from anywhere. To use this system, enter your full email address as the username and your email password in the password field. This can be used to check new emails. However, each user here at US Surveyor has a personal storage file (PST) on their local machine in the office which stores any emails that they have moved from their inbox. These personal folders and emails are at our building on our computers, and would not be accessible in the case of a disaster.
+ Website:
The website is currently being hosted by IDT on the east side of Evansville, near Morgan Ave. A copy of the website is currently on the server here at US Surveyor, but only as a backup and a development copy. The live website is not stored in-house, and a disaster at US Surveyor would not take down the website.
Idea: Perhaps we should post news about the disaster on the website's main page, along with alternate contact information until the phone system is back up. This would include cell phone numbers, so that we could be contacted from any location, which would probably be a necessity.
+ Phones:
The phone system is a major point of concern in the case of a disaster. The whole system is in-house, including all programming for the phones, directory, and call tree. The local and 1-800 numbers routes to our phone system, and the whole process of selecting options is stored on the phone computers downstairs. If this building were destroyed, the numbers would no longer work, and neither would any of the extensions. As stated in the website section, news about the disaster could be posted on the company website's main page, along with alternate contact information until the phone system is back up. This would include cell phone numbers, so that we could be contacted from any location, which would probably be a necessity.
UPDATE: I spoke with our Sigecom / Wow account rep Steve Kalesia, and he explained that when someone dials our local number (402-7001) or our 1-800 number, Sigecom simply passes the call along to the right location (currently our building). In the case of an emergency where our building was destroyed, we could simply call him and he could re-route both numbers to any number of our choice, even a cell phone. We could do this immediately, and therefore our clients could at least contact us until a new phone system was installed somewhere. That cell phone would then serve as the main U.S. Surveyor line, and no transferring would be possible, so we would have to take numbers and have the right person call them back. It's a temporary fix, but one that could be put in place almost immediately.

+ Software:
As of now, most of the software needed for the new installs is stored on the server and backed up. However, the software for the printers and all the AutoCAD and SurvCAD software must be installed using the cds. These cds are stored in Sean's office, and we have no backups or protection for them. This will need to be addressed.
